Keeping up with your lawn can be a difficult task, especially as the season changes. Maintenance doesn’t wane during the cooler months, so it is crucial that all lawn owners understand their property’s landscaping needs. From watering to mowing, there is plenty to do to keep your lawn looking great. Here are just a few tips to help you maintain a beautiful yard all year long.
Tip #1. Fertilize at least 3 times per year
Your lawn requires fertilization at a minimum of three times per year. You can easily complete this task by purchasing a bag of fertilizer and following the directions depending on your lawn.
Tip #2. Water the right way
Watering isn’t as straight forward as you may believe. You can easily over water your landscaping if you aren’t careful, and can dry it out if you fail to maintain a watering schedule. A good rule to follow is water your lawn 3-5 times a week during the hot and dry seasons and then water according to rainfall during the winter months. Also, make sure you water you lawn for no more than 12 minutes if you have a rotating water system, and less time for manual watering.
Tip #3. Consider Edging to Improve Landscaping
Edging is the only way to keep separation from bed areas and your turf. Use a gas powered edger for the best result, but if one is not available use a weed eater vertically to achieve the same effect.
Keep these Landscape maintenance tips in mind for a better-looking lawn all year long.
